ABOUT AJ

AJ Meijer (AEA) is a long-time "corps" member of The Los Angeles Theatre Ensemble and holds a degree in theater from the UCLA School of Theater, Film, and Television. He is an actor, singer, teacher, and tech-enthusiast living in Los Angeles.

Stage creditsi include a role alongside Edward James Olmos in All About Gordon at the Ahmanson Theatre, the world premiere of Swallow Song (directed by renowned theatre director Lydia Koniordou) with The National Theatre of Greece, and, most recently, three shows in as many years at The Getty Villa - including the world premiere of Anne Carson’s Hippolytos (in which he understudied the title role), Tug of War (in which he created the role of Bigbuxo), and, most recently, a powerful retelling of Sophocle's Philoktetes (in which he had the honor of performing alongside illustrious British actor Henry Goodman).

AJ has also been seen on stage at the historic Powerhouse Theatre in Santa Monica, in local playwright David Bridel’s I Gelosi, William Shakespeare’s Macbeth, and the Ensemble's award-winning series of plays, The War Cycle. Other recent credits include local playwright Jennifer Rowland's The Contest, and an energetic send up of Aristophanes' The Wasps, for which the L.A. Times called him “an Elvis Presley-style crooner.” Television credits include a role on everyone’s favorite show, Hannah Montana.

In addition to co-hosting Inside Acting, AJ teaches the Digital Actor Workshop, a class he created and designed to help actors better market themselves using technology and social media. He regularly gives workshops to actors at UCLA, USC, and at multiple Apple store locations (including The Grove and Third Street Promenade).

Moonlighting as a Concierge for the Kirk Douglas Theatre in Culver City, AJ also consults for the Center Theatre Group's Marketing Department.
